This final note on the way out today, we talked earlier about how reforms in the Dodd-Frank Act after the financial crisis have contributed to the dearth of mortgages in some communities.
Today, the Federal Reserve and other banking regulators proposed some changes officials say will encourage more lending.
Under the proposals, banks would have to set aside less capital to protect against losses, like the ones that almost took down the economy back in 2008.
