Israel denies allegations of systematic abuse, but the ban on Red Cross visits has prevented independent assessments.
The prisoners include a prominent Gaza hospital director detained without charge since 2024, a lawyer for Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya.
tells NPR that he has now been placed in solitary confinement.
Nasser Aouda said his client was moved there after he petitioned Israel's high court to review the detaination.
