Oh my gosh, we've got our children that aren't ready for this.
They can't even hear these things or hold a pencil.
How can we get them to do these things?
And so it's only now that they're going, whoa, hold on, that the curriculum's in, and they're saying, our kids aren't quite ready.
It must be COVID.
But actually, the international research, our data that we have an assessment tool that a lot of schools use, it's like a school entry when looking at those foundation skills.
And so for eight years, we've been getting data from thousands of students, same sort of
data that's showing it is international.
And that's eight years ago before COVID.
Huge.
Huge.
Our big thing is supporting whānau to be best and first teachers.
Parents spend more time with their children than anyone else.
And the difference they can make is...
phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal.
We can't stress that enough.
And our charitable trust works at supporting whānau and growing their confidence to be first teachers, even knowing simple things that actually, yeah, reading definitely at night, don't put them on an iPad with a book, you know, reading to them so that your heart beats...
get in the same rhythm and you're calming, you're listening.
Five minutes of, you know, cooking dinner and talking about these things, taking them out, playing on the, you know, all of these things, five minutes here, five minutes here, five minutes there.
So it doesn't have to be long.
