I'm used to the map with Europe at the center, but when I went to the US one day I saw a different world map with the US at the center, and then of course there's the Spielhouse projection it has Antarctica near the center.

I live close to a subway station here in Bucharest and fun fact, the Polytechnica subway station has limestone floors with eighty million year old fossils that you can see.

I do like subways everywhere and I've been on the subway in London, in Boston, New York, Paris, and also in my part of the world, in Kyiv, in Ukraine and in Sofia and Bulgaria, but little did I know that each city's transit system has its own microbial fingerprint and hundreds of researchers and volunteers worked to create a subway microbe map.

With the right machine learning algorithm, the accuracy was 88%.

A group of researchers led by Christopher Mason at Weill Cornell Medicine studied public transport in sixty cities around the world with a focus on subways.
They swapped the handrails, the ticket machines, the touch screens, the benches, the floors.
Well, they found some interesting microorganisms of the eleven thousand six hundred and fourteen viral species they've observed.
Ninety-four percent didn't match any known virus species in the databases.
On the bacterial side, they reconstructed about thirteen hundred genomes, and more than half of those had no match either.
That is astonishing, but
