And they were always like, why do you insist?
Like, you write so well.
Why do you insist in writing this thing?
And I don't know.
I want to write this.
And then...
Finally, after the MFA, I got to Clarion and figure out how it also worked.
In Clarion, I was also thinking if I wanted to write in English.
It was one of the big questions that if I wanted, because science fiction is Spanish.
It's so small and it has only become better known.
And it has like publishing opportunities have just started to open up.
So I didn't feel in 2017 that there was somewhere I could publish if I did it in Spanish.
But I decided in Clarion that I was going to write in Spanish.
That if I continue doing both, I will never be good in one.
So I said, I think it's important for me to write in Spanish and just try to see where this gets me.
No, it changes a lot.
I would say, I think the main difference between Spanish and English is that English is obsessed with actions and verbs.
And Spanish is obsessed with nouns and objects.
So we are very obsessed, not with who has done something, but like I said, the gossip.
We want to know what is done to something, by whom, and not the verbs.
