Yeah, he was, he was, certainly wasn't fully conscious, no, not for all of that, but for a period of it.

I remember one of the days I was home in the October, I'd taken, I think, a week or two weeks off in the October as well, actually, and I was at home and we went for a drive and we used to just go on these little drives.

and we went on a drive one day to Killie Beggs which is like a real fishing village and we went up and got fish and chips and sat in the pier you know looking out and we used to sail an odd time or he used to sail a little bit more than me off Killie Beggs but we went up anyway there and we were sitting there one

windy, cold October Wednesday afternoon and eating the chips in the Jeep, like I can still kind of picture us doing it.

But he obviously wasn't driving at that point.

I was driving and we were chatting and he said to me at that stage, he said like, isn't this, he said like, isn't it wild?

He said like, you know, he said if I, he said animals are better treated in this country than humans.

and he said if I was somebody he said if somebody came into me with a King Charles or whatever dog they have in the state that I'm in now with the prognosis that I have he said my advice to them would be this is unfair on your King Charles it isn't going to get any better it's actually going to get worse

Your dog is in pain.

You were in pain.

You don't want to see this progress any worse.

And my advice to them as a vet would be to put the dog out of their misery and to put them down.

And his take on this was, isn't it terrible that I have to, I have to get so much worse.

Our family have to watch me deteriorate so much more significantly.

And I won't be put out of my misery.

I will ultimately just effectively pass away.

And my view of euthanasia would have been so, so different.
