You're now entering into thick bushels, bracken that overgrows, and it comes just about up to your waist, and it makes it quite difficult to see the floor beneath you.
You're now having to move a little bit more carefully, a little bit more slowly.

And as you look around... You're once again...

taking your time thoroughly, possibly because of the ill terrain beneath your feet, necessitating it, but also partially out of, of course, the great intrigue of these artifacts that are around you.
Like you say, taking out that notebook and making sketches as best you can, which are in fact quite good, as Nina has an aptitude for this sort of thing.
you're noticing some fairly interesting... pictures that appear to be carved into this old stone.
So, like I say, what you're looking at here is scattered around, sitting up, almost...
They say like signposts, but they might even appear to be totems of sort, or one might even feel like they look a little bit like gravestones, even.
They're sort of jutting up from the ground, and they're made of this stone that seems fairly peculiar.
Unlike stone that you've seen in the general area of Mario World where you live,
It looks like, almost like cliffside stone, almost like stone that you might find near the ocean.
Very sort of brittle and porous in a way.
And like I say, these jut up out of the ground every so often.
