Um, this isn't that.

This is extortion.

This is uh um the local mafia dawn.

uh has threatened us and said, um do what I l what what I say, or we're gonna slap on these massive tariffs on you.

You know, nice economy you got there, pity if anything should happen to it.

Um that's not a negotiation, that's just

you know, we're to be basically ransom demands and the only question is how far do we pay ransom?

And it's not usually a good idea to pay ransom.

Um it may be sometimes it's a good idea to keep the the keep the kidnapper on the line.

Uh and keep 'em talking.

Uh and and and so the negotiations have some purpose in that sense of of

trying to stall and stave things off and try to you know probe for weaknesses and try to form alliances and and build time to

make bridges to other other trading partners and i increase our trade with other those countries.

But of course we're not going to be able to do huge amounts of that in the short time that we have.

But all these things kind of fit together.

But I just want to stress this point.

This is not a normal negotiation in so many different ways.

One of which is it's basically an extortion demand.

Yeah, well it would help if we had some equivalent to the Strait of Hormos.

Uh so yeah, I mean i i uh I'm all in favor of that in principle.
