I think what we have are rules and regulations and we've um written to Geelong yesterday asking them as when Steve's gone out and said it was a procedural misstep, w it should have been lodged.
I think if the agreement had been lodged with the AFL through the channels, questions would have been asked, players' association would have been involved, we'd be in a different position.
Why
Because I think what we were working through on Thursday was the information dropping, but as I said before, a player who rightfully at that stage didn't want to be identified.
So what was important for us, again, given the complex and unique nature of this case, but also how important this issue is for the AFL and its clubs and its players, as well as sports worldwide, is that wanted to make sure that we had all the information and it was
important if we could for the AFL and the players association to be aligned.
And we were able to do that and we were able to put out a statement and it took a while to for us to land it that um
The waiver shouldn't have been there.
It's not it now has no effect.
It's been removed and Geelong were on the board of saying that.
And then also reminding clubs that i agreements of this type should be lodged with the AFL.
And I think the last and well not the last part was
agreements in the future with clauses like this won't be accepted.
So yes, that took us a while to get there and then we spend yesterday and I was um well not that matters what I was doing, but we were working through other things as well as that.
And then the information came through, speaking again with Geelong, Steve was you know, Jake had identified himself the day before so that made it
Easier, there was more information and so then at that stage Steve was about was gonna go out and he was gonna say that and then at the same time the police explain went out.
So it wasn't necessarily change in position, but it was as more information comes to light, then you actually have more information to be able to, you know, come and do the radio.
If I'd gone out Thursday afternoon, I'd be in a very different position.
I would have had nowhere near the information that I've got now.
