It has always been kind of a weird thing about the way Trump approaches the world is he is always like more interested in sort of policing his status as the top dog among his circle of associates and friends, more so than he is interested in extracting wins from our actual enemies, from geopolitical adversaries like Russia and China.
And I think this is in keeping with that, essentially bullying Denmark about Greenland.
But since you mentioned Russia, let me just say this real quick as well.
Not a lot of people live in Greenland, but it's not it's not as though Greenland is not important.
Right.
I mean, Greenland is actually strategically geopolitically, strategically very important.
I mean, it's it's a it's a large mass that's very far north.
And, you know, we use it as a as a staging area.
It's an important staging area for for for NATO in general, because the Arctic is important.
The Arctic is important for for, you know, shipping, international shipping there.
for the possibility of, you know, geopolitical conflict later.
I mean, Russia is a lot closer to us over the top than around the side, that sort of thing.
And the prime minister of Denmark made this point explicitly the other day.
I mean, she essentially said, I'm actually happy that the U.S., in a certain sense, I'm happy that the U.S.
is showing such a renewed interest in Greenland.
I want them to remain committed to our having a presence there.
I'd sure rather have, you know, us have it than Russia have it.
