For instance, you were talking about a statistic about the rise in the number of black bears.
Now, it might be clearer to illustrate that by varying the volume rather than the pitch.
So a sharp rise in the number of bears would come out something like this.
I see, yeah, that makes good sense.
And there are other trends that would be clearer if they were represented by a change in pace.
So if, for instance, there's a sharp rise in the number of pollutants in the atmosphere, that might be best represented like this.
Well, Peter's idea of presenting statistics as rising or falling tones also allows you potentially, with the magic of radio, to present statistics in relation to each other.
So we were talking about student loans last week.
If the rise in the threshold for repayment of student loans leads to a proportionate fall in the RAB rate, you could illustrate it like this.
But you'd have to put those two together in the edit.
With two presenters, we could do that.
