I don't remember that.

So this little offhanded comment of his sort of changed my life.

Oh, well, you know, I'm trying not to give advice.

But yeah, I do think that notion of just showing up is just massive.

There's no substitute for it.

You know, texting is fine and all that stuff, but just show up.

And even beside to the other person, to myself, the act that I am doing this, I am making the effort to do this,

lets me know to myself that it's important.

And so, in a certain way, it didn't matter how I was received.

I was doing this for me, and then I felt better about myself in a certain way doing it.

So, I mean, I wouldn't have advice for anybody except, you know...

stay in the game.

You know what I mean?

Yeah, yeah.

And these friendships, if they're a certain kind of true friendship, you don't catch up, you just pick up.

You know what I mean?

I hadn't seen these guys in 20 years and suddenly we're exactly the way we were when we were young, just idiots.

And it's fantastic.

And, you know, we didn't catch up all those 20 years.
