Or he might say, Okay, well, I'm doing
Doing five days a week, I want to drop down to four or three by the time I turn 60.
And the reason that has implications to your retirement wealth is, well, if you slow down your working now, there might be some money that you need to top up if you've got a lifestyle request.
But you know, most people, if they're going to step down, are saying, okay, I'm I'm prepared now to just live on a little bit less because we've paid off our personal mortgage, for example.
Example we said before about Natasha.
Like let's say Natasha's prepared to work a little bit longer, but only two days a week out of the five days a week that she's working now.
Well, you might need to bridge a gap between the income she's bringing in and now, but she doesn't have access to a kiwi saver.
So we're gonna have to use my Kiwi Saver to fund that.
So just a little bit of a uh consideration around what it might mean in terms of slowing down.
things that I see is people wanting to help out their kids and not so much leave them money when they retire.
Like I I think a lot of people, and particularly if they're this is kind of a conversation they've had with the kids, the kids are spend all your money, Mum and Dad.
We we want you to enjoy you know how hard you've worked.
You know, if we inherit the family home, awesome.
If we've got a holiday home that we inherit, that's awesome.
But as far as uh inheriting your rentals, we're not so interested in that.
But could you help us out buy a house?
And so maybe the parents say, Well, I want to give each of my three kids $100,000 when they all turn 30 so that they can buy a house.
And that seems to be a common thing.
Now, parents obviously wanting to be generous is awesome, but you just got to remember if your kids are turning 30 over the next few years and you've got to come up with that money, well, you're probably not going to borrow it.
You're less likely to borrow it.
