We're getting closer and closer to it.
And so if you decrease your body weight by 5%, your risk of going from pre-diabetes to diabetes goes down 58%.
It is so worthwhile losing weight.
body weight alone.
Well, the risk profile, and there is an element of what we don't know right now.
No question about that.
It seems that the advantages right now, from what we know, far outweigh any disadvantages or potential issues with our health down the track.
But the reality is we don't know that for sure at this stage.
I would say the biggest challenges and the biggest issues right now for me are that people think it's a wonder drug and that they don't have to exercise, they don't have to do strength training, and they don't have to eat well.
So although there are real benefits of actually just having less fat tissue, muscle wastage
is enormous and can be enormous.
And then the potential effects on our health long-term are significant.
So lean muscle mass, so important that we do strength training, which these drugs will not help with at all.
In fact, may make worse.
And strength is so important as you get older too.
So important, and a lot of the stuff now, the research of longevity and healthspan is saying that it could be the most important element of living longer and healthier lives.
So it's crazy, actually, the stuff that's coming out about it.
Aerobic exercise, so...
We need to do aerobic exercise.
And interestingly, this is fascinating, 84% of our fat loss comes through our breathing.
