Well I had two thoughts.
First is
It is worth remembering.
He is not the only prosecutor who has resigned, let alone the only prosecutor who has resigned in this case.
In other words, there is yet another prosecutor, the one just before him, who also resigned, and reportedly because there was a lack of evidence.
In other words, consistent with Judge Genova's first statement that you read, Jen.
Um, of course, there are prosecutors who resigned.
from the Department of Justice in New York, in Minnesota, in D C in Virginia.
That's to name a few.
Um why?
Because they could not stomach
what this administration has been doing, which has all the appearance of vindictive and selective prosecution, as has been found by judges and is being litigated right now.
So yes, it is surprising that it is coming this time from Joe de Genova.
And, you know, as you would think, if it's coming from him, that's a new low for this department.

Well, I I not to not to sort of be maudlin, but we we are on the twenty-fifth anniversary of nine eleven and and where my head goes is uh you know, I was um in the department then and one of the things that was a common refrain and mantra in the department, but also in the country large was
Um, to embrace the rule of law and due process and essentially don't let the terrorists win.
In other words, we have to stand for what.
who we are in the in this country and what our beliefs are, um, because that's what was trying to be torn down 25 years ago with the murder of thousands of Americans and others that we're commemorating today.
