And so people see it coming.
And people say it'll be as big as moving from farms to factories.
And yeah, that's gonna create fear.
On the actual placing of the data centers, I will say this, these companies are about to invest massive amounts of money, maybe 10 or 100 times more than their headquarters, but they don't come to these communities.
They don't talk to people and assure them if they are going to be that big of a part of the community, that it's going to be a net benefit.
And for me, three rules that you have to start with before you ever have the conversation.
Number one, you pay for all your own power, not one cent on the backs of our people that pay too much already.
That's transmission, that's production.
Now, number two, you gotta pay your fair share of taxes because you're not gonna employ that many people, but you may kick off enough to the school system to double.
It's budget because of property taxes.
Pay teachers more and have the resources to address that displacement.
But third, and it's where I started, you got to get in there and make the community want you.
These facilities are not going to be successful in the long term unless these companies develop a little more of a human side, get into the community and talk about the real benefits and have one-on-one conversations with those that are concerned.
I think you're pointing out the uncertainty in all of it.
Now, people don't know if it's gonna be Y2K, we know it's gonna be bigger than that, or if it's gonna be data centers on the moon.
And that is just a huge spread for people to try to think about and deal with.
When I think about those strip malls, I've actually seen them go from the mall to the church to now a healthcare facility.
We ought to look at that.
But this is a part of having good leaders, rational leaders, leaders that put the American people first, because we don't know what step three of this might look like.
And it's going to be scary for the American people.
