It's pretty crazy, and I guess this really interesting world we're living in right now.

But I think back to the fact that Donald Trump has had multiple Mount Rushmore moments, and I know he thinks that he should be up there.

If he would have followed

the medical and health advice, his administration would have created the fastest vaccine to end a pandemic in human history.

And he would have won reelection running away and he couldn't do it because a small group of folks bent on conspiracy theories were out there.

And he would rather glom onto that than save as many lives as possible and ultimately do the right thing.

Well, I think Dr. Fauci was providing the best advice he could at the time in dealing with something that none of us had ever seen.

To me, I made my decisions through what is almost a basic math equation, and it was about saving the most lives.

Listen, I had to put my head down on my pillow every night, having read the death list out loud that day.

Even if it was gonna get me run out of town, I was gonna do the best I could to save the most people.

I remember the first time that I knew someone on that list.

And I remember the time that I knew about five people on it.

It's one of the toughest things I've ever had to do.

But every day I address the people of Kentucky.

And every day I read that list because I didn't want anybody else to have to.
