And you just have to obviously call things as they develop.

You have to defend your own national interests before anything else.
That's what you're required to do if you're to do this job properly.
I will always put Britain's interests first.
I mean, I am not going to get into the position of sort of, you know, if you like, guessing what scenarios might develop.
It's a challenging situation.
De-escalation is the thing that I think we need to see.
And I will certainly be adding my voice to the other voices of leaders around the world who are calling for the same.
Well I appointed my new Chancellor very aware of what he had said about the critical importance of defence spending and the position that he had taken about that.
