It was a darkness, almost like an eclipse.
And he said there was a kind of ochre mist as light from the sun was diffused through falling ash.
And he said so much ash was falling that my car was turning completely grey.
Wow.
I can really visualise that scene.
As well as being sort of poetic and beautiful, it's terrifying, isn't it?
