It's taken me, like, 20... I mean, I think people literally, sort of, on this side of the world, anyway, found out about me maybe when I was at Celtic, but more two years ago.

When you get to sort of a certain age like me, I can't pretend to be anybody but who I am, you know.

So what you saw in public is who I am in sort of private.

I'm the same kind of person, you know.

I'm not trying to... Because I just don't feel the need now to try and sell myself or try and portray something I'm not.

And that sometimes rubs people up the wrong way because if somebody had a crack at me, I'd have a crack back.

And I guess my view was, well, whatever you think about where I've come from, you can't not say that I haven't worked bloody hard at it to get to here.

Because I didn't get to here because of my reputation or my, you know, my sort of network of people that I could tap into on this side, because no-one knew me.

So the only reason I've got here is because of the work I've done.

At some point, somebody's recognised something I've done and said, OK, give him an opportunity.

So...

I take pride in that.

I work my backside off to get here.
