She always wanted a little girl.

That was kind of that conversation, you know, but they were the only ones, but they were enough.

They were important.

And she got me a candle saying mam and then another candle saying Lisa so I could have them on the altar for my wedding day.

Considering I'd already gone through what I'd gone through, you would think I wouldn't be, but I was so nervous.

I was really nervous about meeting Kathleen.

I knew the depths of that pain and suffering, not to the level that she knows it because everyone's as personal, but I knew a level of it.

I watched her with the children and just how she was, which still makes me emotional, funnily enough.

But she was so giving.

And instantly I went, it's OK, this is going to be OK.

I'm not nervous anymore.

And I don't think she knows that I was nervous.

And then I was brought into a private space with Kathleen and I did the interview.

And I just knew that we were bonded and we had connected.

And unfortunately, when you go through what we go through and you meet somebody that understands it,

Usually you're bonded one way or the other for life.

It's a knowing that nobody else will ever get and you don't want other people to ever get.

So when you connect with another person that understands your suffering and your pain like no other, it's like your heart connects immediately and you recognize each other in that moment, what that's like and what that suffering is like, what the nighttimes are like and what the mornings are like and, you know, what life in itself can be like.

And Kathleen, I remember thinking, there's a lifelong friend

I learn something new from Kathleen, you know, all the time.
