I went to DIT.

I did business studies, yes.

And for my thesis, because I was already aware, and I love fashion, so I read a lot of fashion magazines and I was already kind of at the, you know, I was deep in it.

And I, my thesis was an exploration into media consumption and its effect on disordered eating.

And so I was very curious.

I knew that I didn't want to be stuck with this thing, but I also was aware that it had... Were you sharing this with anybody else, the problem?

No, it was very secret, which is a big part of, I guess, the shame in it that it becomes this kind of, yeah, also I wasn't ready.

I think in order to say it out loud, you need to know that there will be a extra eyes on you in terms of your behavior, but also a desire you would think from people who love you to want to help you.

I was very fond of it in many ways.

Well, my parents sent me, briefly, there's a show, The Late Late Show, and there was a guy on it, and they talked a lot about child psychology because, like, look, I had seen Karen Carpenter

We listened to the carpenters at home.

I had seen whatever stumbled across that biography.

And then I was aware of anorexia as a thing that could kill you.

I was aware of the seriousness of it.

But I think most people thought of it as a kind of, you know, teenage.

Girls want to look cute.
