And when I went back a little while later, a few months later, that whole scene had been removed
So it was the two things, this idea of a tour and the idea that what was valuable in that scene were those little things that are lost quite quickly.
Well, it seemed to make sense to me because on a tour, you go into one room and there's one particular story, there's one particular person, you know, the artifacts relate to various things.
And then you move to another room and it's something different.
So you can manipulate that to an extent, but it would be quite artificial.
You know, in a real tour, it is quite mismatched.
And also, you know, maybe partly because of that, that's the way memory works.
You know, we don't think in lines we'll see something and that triggers something else, maybe from years and years before.
So I wanted it to be like sort of the workings of memory as you move through this house, not sort of marching along a line, but just everything coming quite naturally to the mind.
Yeah, I think that's wonderful.
It's lovely to read something like that.
It's amazing.
And it's really reassuring because there have been, you know, other comments that just hate everybody.
They hate all the siblings.
And, you know, that's really shocking to read.
And it's, you know, when you...
you intend for them to be complicated and flawed, but lovable.
And for the love of the siblings, you know, exactly what this person said.
And that's really so important to you, you know, to me writing it.
And so, yeah, it's much nicer.
