And I was at one wing of the house with my sister, and my parents were at the other wing of the house.
Basically, what happened that morning is I woke up,
And I always woke up first and I went into my sister's room and, you know, she was lying in bed and she was dead.
And I just, I couldn't like, I couldn't process it.
And then I heard my parents coming down the hall to kind of wake us up.
And I panicked because in my mind, I thought they would think that maybe I was responsible.
You know, it's like a totally crazy thing.
I ran back into my room and I hid.
And then I just next thing I heard was my mother scream and all the rest of it.
Anyway, out of that, what happened is I developed kind of a tragic relationship to life.
And I started to sort of struggle with that for a long time.
And then I sort of rediscovered the beauty again, but it was a kind of a beauty that I discovered in the tragedy.
And ever since then, I've just always been fascinated because to me, creatives are people who...
appreciate the reality of life on a fundamental level.
And to appreciate the reality of life, you have to understand that there's terrible darkness in that.
There's things we don't understand that are beyond us, that are beyond the human, that shatter you.
But then you take that and you make that into beauty.
And you have to be open to both sides of that.
And so that was sort of when I started on this journey to hang out with people that are more creative than me.
Did you say fear of death was a big issue after that?
