And these were all fantasies made up and corroborated by very, very dodgy statistics.

But it's like fake news, right?

We know it's rubbish, but it's still everywhere.

So I think these kind of histories of sexuality, and the more you probe into the archives, you see that these questions percolate as we go along.

No, I think that is, I would say less than clumsy.
