So she's from Braunschweig, a.k.a.
Brunswick, which was a duchy in what is now Germany.
She's from this really prestigious family, but she didn't get married for a long time.
And that was partially because there were rumors that she was insane, which were largely because her parents kept her trapped away.
In my book, I compare her to Rapunzel or something.
Her mother didn't want her to be interacting out in the world too much.
Oh, exactly.
So it's like the beginning of a very sad fairy tale.
And the reason her mother did this is because Caroline was so, for all these lovable reasons, honestly, she was so opinionated.
She liked to have fun so much.
She was very talkative.

And her mother just thought, oh, no, people aren't going to like this.
