So for them, I think it was more about priorities.

It's just that in their minds, they're very clear.

They have four children.

Their youngest child is now 16.

Their oldest is 25.

Three of their four children live away from home at this point.

So for them, seeing their children and traveling with their children over the holidays has been something that's been

enormously gratifying because when they're on the road and when they're away from home you know everybody tends to sort of prioritize being together to eat and drink and you know do activities together so this is something that the family has found to be a way to really bring enormous satisfaction so even though they experience some income related challenges in 2020

They felt that it was important for them to set aside the money to do something like that together this year.

And they're actually planning a really what sounds like a very nice trip to a beachside resort town in Mexico.

It's certainly something that they're spending a lot more money on this year versus last year when they traveled in the car, sort of a three-hour trip to a local ski mountain.

Well, I was really inspired by Ashley and how she had about $5,000 in credit card debt

that she was able to pay down in part due to student loan payment pauses, and that she also has been able to build up a really impressive emergency fund of about $15,000.

She still has student loan debt outstanding, and I think that she and other people with student loans are going to have to start those repayments again soon.

But she was able to eliminate the credit card debt, which is pretty impressive.

And that just seemed to be such an enormous improvement in her financial situation.

And she seemed to really be coming at the holiday budgeting exercise with the overarching goal of, like, preserving that, her budget.

So she, you know, she sounds like she's going to put some spending on her credit cards, but with the goal of not spending more than she can afford to pay off right away.

So I thought that's great.
