Cara, an idea that struck me as pretty interesting and that you write about in your article for The Wall Street Journal is this idea of syncing viewing with your friends and family who can be watching the same thing somewhere else.

That seems like an interesting concept.

What is the idea behind that?

And is anyone else doing something like that?

That's really interesting.

So they're looking to really change the habits of viewers.

I've been speaking with The Wall Street Journal's Cara Lombardo about the new streaming service, Philo.

Cara, we've been talking about the habits of cord cutters a little bit, and I'm wondering if anyone is making inroads in convincing viewers not to cut the cord.

Are premium channels responding to new services like Philo or are big cable companies offering anything more cost effective to younger viewers, especially who don't want to spend so much?

I ask about offering lower costs because for younger people, especially in their 20s and early 30s, it is a cost issue and also a matter of not actually needing everything that's on offer.

I feel like when the Internet company calls me and tries to tell me I need a landline, I don't really need a landline.

And I know people who share Hulu accounts, share Netflix accounts, and that's a way to split those costs.

How does a company like Philo compete with that?

Because that's really more about changing lifestyle.

Another interesting aspect of Philo is it sort of, I guess, had a soft launch in college campuses in 2011.

What did they learn from studying the habits of college-age students that they've applied here?
