Anxieties that were voiced by white residents of Co-op City, for sure, but also by black residents of Co-op City.

You know, often when you talk about neighborhoods that undergo like racial change, you know, where there's white flight, it's either a story of violence or a story of, you know, neglect or whatever.

And Co-op City, it's not really that story.

Co-op City did become a majority black community by 1990.

It has remained that way to this day, but it has stayed at the same time a middle class community.
