He never even thought that she would look twice at him.

So it's no wonder that no one, not even Keith's own parents, could imagine that behind that perfect family photo, there was something much, much darker.
But the truth was, there was.
And the biggest issue in their marriage was their finances.
Which for people who have never gone through something like that, I can definitely understand where the thought of arguing about money seems like something small or like something that is easily fixable.
But the truth of the matter is, financial issues sometimes are one of the biggest reasons that people separate and end up divorced.
And Keith had been working as an engineer for years, and he was very, very good at it.
The pay was solid, the benefits were great, but there was a big downside to it.
He was gone all the time.
His job kept him on the road half the week, and with three little boys at home, he hated feeling like he was missing everything.
The bedtime stories, the soccer games, the day-to-day moments that build and shape their lives and their futures.
So eventually, Keith decided he needed to make a change.
He took a new job that was closer to home, which it wasn't an engineering position, so because of that, it came with a major pay cut.
