Maybe he was out running errands, we see his car driving south, like everything's fine.
So because of that, that welfare check, the call, it was cleared without anybody going inside the property.
Which, knowing what we know now, it's incredibly frustrating.
But then, even after that, John still wasn't answering any calls or text messages.
So later on, that same neighbor, along with a few other friends who were increasingly worried, they went back to John's house.
And they decided to take it upon themselves and go inside.
And unfortunately, that's when they found him.
John was dead inside his bathroom.
Investigators described the scene as extremely violent and very large amounts of blood.
Sheriff Grady Judd later said that John had been disemboweled and, quote, eviscerated, which that's one of those moments where you just take a pause, take a beat, because we don't hear that term very often.

Detectives were easily able to track down John's stolen credit card after it was used at a Circle K, which is kind of like a liquor store, convenience store type situation, like a 7-Eleven.
And they also discovered that another one of his cards had been used.
This time, the card was used at a pizza restaurant where Julian was working as a dishwasher, which...
Pro tip for anybody who's going to commit a crime, maybe don't use stolen credit cards at your place of work if you're trying to, like, fly under the radar.
But again, it doesn't appear that Julian was trying to fly under the radar.
