So this wasn't some complex investigation.
I mean, he definitely left a trail behind.
They also were able to then track John's stolen car.
And early Monday morning, around 4.42 a.m., deputies saw Julian getting into the car.
However, when they tried to approach him, he just took off, booked it.
He ended up crashing the car into a ditch, and he tried to run, but the deputies caught him very quickly.
And when they caught him, they also found John's bank card on his person.
After that, it didn't take long.
Julian folded, and he just confessed.
Which, according to investigators, Julian flat-out admitted to killing John.
And the reason why, he told the police he was angry about being kicked out of the house.
He said he didn't want to live in a shed behind his friend's house and he didn't want to be away from his girlfriend.
That was his reasoning, which I'm sorry, but like, what?
So because you don't want to be inconvenienced, because you don't want to crash on a friend's couch or in their shed or whatever, because you don't want to be away from your girlfriend, you are going to brutally murder this older man who tried to help you, who tried to give you a place to stay and like give you a break in life?
I mean, that's your explanation?
Now, as for the way it all unfolded...
Julian told the police that on Sunday, he broke back into John's house through a bathroom window.
Once he was inside, he hid inside a closet and just waited there.
And just when he thought that John had settled in for the night, was going to sleep, that it was going to be easy, he started stealing his cash and credit cards.
The problem was, and what Julian wasn't expecting, was John woke up.
