But I think he's left it in a worse state in the sense of trust is so broken now.

So he came in promising change.

And he didn't deliver the change that people were expecting from a Labour government.

And that is hugely damaging.

It's damaging to, you know, what people expect from politicians.

It's damaging in terms of people turning to populist alternatives.

And it's damaging, you know, Labour's chance of not being a one-term government.

So in that sense, I think...

the country is in a worse state because it's almost like you know we tried the Tories we tried Labour now we want to try at the moment judging still by the polls reform and so in that sense he has failed um and if you do go around the country people are just feeling that the country is broken um and that Labour hasn't done enough to fix it um so you know I suppose in a sort of

emotional sense he's not left it in a better state but in terms of some of those concrete metrics that he's measuring himself by then certainly things do look a bit more stable and are improving in some areas yeah
