Today it was opening statements.
I'm here in the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas.
We heard from the prosecution, we heard from the defense for the first time.
Joining me now is the BBC's North America correspondent, who's usually based in Los Angeles, Shima Khalil, but she is with us today in Vegas.

Hey Nunushka, great to be with you.
I know you've been watching this story since it happened.
Today we had opening statements, so this is where the theory for the prosecution and the defence are both presented to the jury.
Let's start with the prosecution as the burden of proof is on them.
What did they have to say?
And I mean, we've heard it said that the star witness for the prosecution is Dwayne Keefe D.
Davis.
I think that's a fair statement to make now.
