The conspiracy that I am open to is from a pure politics angle.
It feels very rare that the negotiation politics, not politics.
From a pure negotiation angle, the fans are very split and very angry about this.
And a lot of them are going to side with the owners because they're mad at the big, bad Dodgers.
So there is a theory of like, if you're the owner of the Rays or the owner of the Brewers and you want to... Thrilled that this happened.
You're thrilled that everybody's pissed the Dodgers.
It's like, yeah, yeah, get mad at them.
So we can try to get a salary cap, which is what all of them probably want because they get to cap the earnings of their labor, which is ideal in an environment where you have the billionaires fighting against the millionaire players.
So...
That I am open and sympathetic to the idea that not everybody loses from the Dodgers being seen as this unbeatable behemoth, even if they're not.
It's not just fans.
I mean, think about how much of the local economy is between stadium workers to team employees to the fact that smaller US cities around the country have 80 plus events every year that are guaranteed that provide local broadcast rights, local TV.
