Hurts to say it, huge respect for this business.
I did a deep dive on this five years ago, just looking at the consistency of its earnings, and it was amazing.
Up there with Australia's best companies, I'd say just compounded one foot in front of the other year after year, just got better and better and better.
And JB Hi Fi didn't do anything wrong as such, but it's getting much tougher for it out there, like much worse than expected.
So it's trading update, the way it started, FY27, comparable sales growth in the core JB Hi.
By Australia was a negative 1.4%.
In the good guys, which it also owns, negative 1.7%.
Now, investors aren't used to that.
You know, a year ago, those comparable sales numbers were 5.1 and 3.8% growth.
Two years ago, 5.2% and 2.7% growth.
Like this thing has been such a consistent performer.
COVID was hectic.
Obviously, there was that boom at the start and then a bit of a drop off.
She knows that.
But like apart from that COVID period, it's been a really smooth
Steady, compounding ride.
And to your point, James, like Australians are spending.
