And that's doable, but it obviously takes more effort.
For us it means accepting that this is the player that I'm playing with or that's the player that I'm playing with and connecting with them from Monday to Friday and making sure that come game day we know exactly what we want to do.
Defense, a lot of it comes down to communication and the first thing that goes when you're tired is probably the communication so you need to work hard.
to make sure that that stays up and that's how you keep the connected line.
Make sure that you stay connected for the full 80 minutes and therefore there shouldn't be any gaps in your defence line if you are connected.

And massive from him as well is around the first breakdown offset piece.
I mean, on attack every team tries to make the first breakdown a quick one and on defence you try and do the opposite and
Whether it's his tackling or his post-tackle work at the breakdown, he's able to slow that first phase down for us and gives our line time to set and put some heat on for the next few phases.
He's massive for us.
Even now that he's not playing, he's still in and around the environment.
And just his presence means a lot to the team because he still adds value in meetings and stuff.
He shares his knowledge with the team.
And obviously over the last five years now, I've picked his brain for sure and learned a ton of him.
So I'm very grateful for him.
big one is set piece it was definitely not up to the standard that we wanted to be because it is exactly um exactly what you say we do all this good work to get into the 22 and then we have a line out and all it takes is an overthrow or a bad lift or a misunderstanding and then all that good work sort of goes to waste um and yeah it's definitely frustrating um yeah because again we do all the hard work to get there and then
we just don't reward ourselves um so yeah i think the fixes um are simple ones but at the same time they're going to make big shifts um for us knowing that we're all all over our line out i haven't actually had a close look at the game myself but i definitely know that the set piece whether it's scrum or line out and on both sides of the ball um it's definitely a big work on for us hitting it next week especially because that's an area that the crusaders pride themselves on they that they love a scrum they love a line out so yeah we need to sharpen up around there

And I did think that was one of the good things, the positives that we can take out of yesterday is our variation on attack.
We obviously have our DNA style, which is roll the sleeves up and go straight through them.
