It follows the mold for the Blue Jays, who we've seen them do this in the past, whether it was Robbie Ray or Yusei Kikuchi, or you could even put Dylan Cease into this category as well as acquiring pitchers who have undeniably electric stuff, but who have struggled with their control and command and haven't really been able to put it all together and have walked a few too many dudes. matched

They bring them in, they give them some new ideas, whether it's pitch mix, whether it's something with their delivery on the mound, whether it's intent, whether it's sights. matched

They have like a whole suite of developmental approaches that they can use with pitchers to help them throw more strikes. matched

So that's clearly something that they're trying to replicate here. matched

And I think it's fascinating. matched

fair to say the blue jays have a better developmental reputation than uh the angels do um you know look like three to four years ago the blue jays were not having much success developing pitchers at all uh but then justin lair took over that department and they reworked a lot of their philosophies and methodologies and they've had a lot more success um of late nolan perry being a really good example of a guy who goes from like a matched

So it's it's a big bet for the Blue Jays developmentally that they can help Soriano get get the most out of what is so clearly some some very, very legitimate arm talent. matched

And I'm assuming that Ohapi is the guy who's probably caught Soriano the most over the last several years. matched

It's kind of funny that you bring him up because Ohapi just got traded. matched
