And he was kind of having a bit of a battle with me, not wanting me to have the party at all.
But mum and dad put the foot down and said, she's allowed to have a party.
Had a champagne.
I can't remember, but I remember waking up, I had my first hangover, and I was like, God, this is so much worse than everyone told me it would be.
Another Tasmanian.
Gian Marini.
Yes.
And Annie Williams.
There's been a young man on the team for four years.
He made his debut in Birmingham at the Comm Games, but he's kind of flown under the radar for quite a while.
His name's Sam Short, but I think after these games, he has the chance to become a genuine superstar of the national team.
He won the 200, 400, 800, 1500 at trials and was within a tenth of Thorpey's Australian 400 record.
Bloody hell.
So if he is able to break Ian Thorpe's national record on the 400 freestyle, that I feel like would be quite a milestone in Australian sporting history.
But he also has the chance to win the 4815, which has never been done before because the 800 is a new event for the men.
So he's one to watch, Sam Short.
Yeah, he was crook in Paris, and he's had a bit of a bad run the past few years with injury.
At the last Commonwealth Games, he literally had a melanoma cut out five weeks before the Games.
So this should be his year.
There's also a young breaststroker.
