I do find it curious, but I don't find it ethically suspect, if that makes sense.

Like we know that no matter what was going to happen, the car crash was going to be reported.
Like there's not like like holding on to it or delaying a little bit in this case because there is no value to timeliness, which I think is the controlling factor here for whether or not delaying a story is ethical.

whether or not it helps a party who may be in some way ethically implicated, if it helps that party to delay it from kind of the consequences of what they've done, then yeah, that is a huge issue.
That's not my understanding of like what is happening here.
And I don't see how that could be the case.
And so like sitting on the story for a little while, um, maybe until you can get a statement from the guy in the car crash, which is a, not just a valid reason to wait on a story, but like actually the more ethically appropriate thing to do.

That seems totally fine and in line with journalism standards.
