So you can't be at the opponent's 49-yard line on third and 10 and then decide to take a knee to get back, right?
Because you know you're not going to convert on third and 10, so, you know, right?
like which would be the strategic take there in a world where that rule doesn't exist.
And I believe even in the UFL version of the rule, which I think they have the rule.
It's been a bit since I've watched the UFL.
Um, once you cross, you can't, um, you know, uh, re-enable access to it.
Uh, okay, cool.
But the problem is, uh, I already hate it when teams play for a field goal.
Um,
But at least in a world where they're down two, there's a huge incentive to get as many yards as possible anyway, because the closer you are to the goalposts, the more likely it is that your kicker will make it.
Now, we know that's not a certainty, right?
But, uh, we know that the closer you are, the better it is for your kicker.
Right.
And so there's like, there's always an incentive to get more yards.
And then there's still an incentive, um, to be screwed.
Let's get a touchdown.
Right.
Like that's what the Minneapolis miracle was.
It was like, you could get out of bounds to kick a game tying field goal, or you could house it and just end this conversation.
