Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And that, I mean, that was just before the election, I would say one of my most absurd days.

I mean, the modern political campaigning was invented, if you like, by Gladstone in the famous Midlothian campaign of 1874, I think.

And everyone talks about it and how he just would go to these towns and he would electrify his audiences and people would be carried out because they become so enraptured by it.

And then Ed Davies, the leader of that same party, just before the election, I had to wait for over an hour

with my nose against a gate in Thorpe Park so that I could see Ed Davey come past for, I reckon, 1.3 seconds and sort of write a piece about it.

And that was my day's work.

And it took me a long time to get there and back and a long time to wait.

And it was just, vroom, train home.

If only we could harness all this energy for good.
