What do you want to say to the vast majority of founders and technical teams that do absolutely no user research except from asking their friends and best consumers what they think and to try and just break it for them?
One of the issues that I think user researchers or research in general gets a bad rap for is because it is much more insight driven and and qualitative generally.
And especially in these tech companies, everyone's really addicted to measuring adoption and token usage, but not necessarily much else because I don't know if they know how to.
So bringing it to KPIs or key metrics that actually do move the needle in terms of understanding people's usage and value creation.
What key metrics should teams be measuring to know that their AI is succeeding?
Can you give an example of what a loss pattern is, just so that people can understand that?

And honestly, like your work has been making quite big waves in terms of the research community.
And
I think companies are trying to not necessarily replicate it, but they assume that because they're doing self-evaluations, they're asking employees how they're feeling about the AI tools, if they're getting usage, if their productivity is better, how they're feeling about it.
But there's some some issues with that self-reporting data, right?
Because it's coming from inside the house.
