Research shows that money does increase happiness, at least to a point, right?
Like up to a certain dollar amount, it helps you be happier because you're not so freaking stressed about everything.
You can do things that you want in your life.
Now, at a certain point, more money doesn't necessarily create more of those well-deserved
um, being fillings, those, the happiness, the dopamine hit, right?
Because it's just more money.
It's an inanimate object, right?
But it is a tool.
So to a certain extent, to a certain money level, it does help improve your life satisfaction.
It reduces stress.
It creates security.
It equals peace of mind, right?
Whenever I ask people like, what is financial freedom to you?
A lot of people, if not most people say at least to some extent, peace of mind.
And that is what money gives you that brings you happiness, right?
It doesn't come from possessions, but it comes from what money makes possible, a safe home.
family vacations, groceries without guilt, freedom from bill anxiety, freedom from the stress of overdrawing your account, of paying bills late, the late fees, all of those things.
And so it brings us down to why do people want us to believe that money doesn't bring happiness?
That's where my mind always goes.
