There's not enough time to build that compound interest, right?
We hear all about compound interest and it's the eighth wonder of the world.
And
While that is true, it is incredibly important.
It still doesn't mean that you should not take the steps now that you are older to still make sure that you are set up for retirement.
So yes, you may have missed some really important years to kind of coast into retirement, but that
That doesn't mean that's your whole story, right?
We've got to shift that mindset and realize that you do have time.
You can even do catch-up contributions on your retirement accounts once you're over the age of 50.
And it is also important to manage your money so that you can live on less in retirement and not have to have so many debt payments, right?
So
All of that plays into it as well, because even if you had started saving in your 20s and you have, you know, a good nest egg ready for retirement or that you don't have to really like worry about it in the second half of life, you still...
have to reduce your debt payments, right?
You still have to reduce the amount that you need to live on each month because social security, one, it may not even be around by the time we retire, who knows at this point, but it's not much money.
it really is not enough money to live on.
It's not even enough to pay rent somewhere, let alone food, power, electricity, a car, insurance, all of the things that you won't make enough money with social security.
So it is still important to focus on the basics like budgeting and saving and paying off debt so that you
can be more comfortable in retirement and it will help you, you know, get through a lot of the things that people struggle with in retirement.
Just the basic things, right?
