There's not really an obvious limit to what we could ask biology to make for us.
And we can now reprogram biology.

But then what happens?
You have a new yeast or bacteria or algae.
You hope that your reprogramming of its DNA is going to cause it to burp out something else you want instead of alcohol, maybe a medicine, let's say.
