When I hear everyone, I think that Dubas is a part of that equation.
Not just as a member of Team Canada who helped put the team together.
Who has a large say in a lot of these personnel decisions.
but also as general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
And Sid's smart.
He's not going to play if he really thinks or if medical professionals think and are trying to nudge him and say, Sid, not a good idea.
Don't do it.
Don't plan on it.
Sid will ultimately make the right decision because he values the Penguins.
He values the cup run.
Of course he values the Olympics.
Any Canadian ice hockey player, you hear them talk how much the importance of the, the Olympics is to them probably cannot be taken into account for us Americans because that is their sport.
That is their pastime.
That is like, if it's the Superbowl,
and you have a chance to come back, kind of like a la Rod Woodson in 95, you have an opportunity to play, even if you're banged up, you're going to go out there and give it your all because it's the last game of the year.
It's the last chance.
But for Sid, it's not.
And that's where things differ.
You still have 20-plus games in this NHL season for the Penguins who are fighting for a playoff spot, who, yes, are in a good position, but cannot afford their captain to go down.
cannot afford for Sidney Crosby to miss time whatsoever the rest of the season because he is the glue that has kept so many things together this year.
