I realize that he has not made his debut, but how much does that truly matter?

The fact that he's never played one game in the major leagues.

Now, Colt Emerson is not nearly the same level of prospect as Griffin.

He's still a first-round pick and he's 20 years old.

He's pretty good.

He's not even the number one prospect in the Mariner system.

No, but he's a very good prospect.

And he got $95 million.

So the gap between the potential for Connor Griffin, because that's in a way what you're paying for.

It's so much greater.

So the thing that I don't really understand here is the Pirates are talking 110%.
