I've heard stories where he's told some players stuff that maybe they didn't want to hear.
So he's still a tough coach that's not going to let people walk over him, even though he seems like that nice, lovable guy.
guy that you can get along with.
I mean, I think he's a very smart offensive mind.
I think he's, I mean, you look at it, I think he does get somewhat of a bad rap when it comes to coaching because he is John Harbaugh.
I mean, those guys have the same exact resume.
Harbaugh is considered like, you know, a Hall of Fame coach and McCarthy just seems like,
People view him as a failure, and I don't think that's quite fair right now.
So he is what he is.
I mean, look what he was able to do, Bob.
When he got hired, I would say maybe definitely the majority was not for this hire.
Didn't like him, retread, Pittsburgh guy.
He got in front of the crowd opening press conference.
He made his heartfelt feelings known, and people turned.
People realized, hey, this guy is โ
He's legit, so I'm curious to see.
This whole process, Bob, this whole inside that building has a new feel to it.
I wasn't a big fan of, say, Mike Tomlin being stale, but now I know what that means because it does feel a little bit refreshing than what we've seen over the past 10 years.
