So I sat in my bedroom and was playing the guitar.

I had no idea what I was doing.

I knew one chord, but I was going to figure it out.

And so I started definitely writing for sure at 14.

And I know that because one of my songs I wrote

Really, I'm 14 years old.

I'm not that old.

That's one of the fucking lyrics in the song.

So I was like, I know I was writing by 14.

That's amazing.

Yeah.

And then I got into high school and then I discovered like Green Day and Noah Fax, Blink-182.

And I was like, yes.

And like...

got an electric guitar, wore it low, and just started writing my own songs.

And that's kind of like where it all shifted for me and then sort of like ended up performing again and making my way to New York City, getting a record deal by like 16 and was so young.

No one could fathom that like I wanted to write my own songs.

So that was like the biggest sort of challenge on the making of the first album and that –

everyone wants the producers, you know, they naturally went to like polished and fluffy and this and that.
